Object history
The engraving shows a Room with alcove in the ballet Cimene, choreographed by Salvatore Viganó, probably designed by Sanquirico, given at La Scala, Milan in 1819.
The print came to the Museum as part of the Cyril Beaumont Bequest.

Historical significance: An example of early 19th century scene design, in the realistic, pictorial tradition by one of the leading Italian scene designers of the period.
