Object history
The engraving shows the Throne Room in the ballet Il Perdone per serpresia (also known as Bianca), choreographed Salvatore Viganó, designed by Sanquirico, given at La Scala, Milan in 1819.
The print came to the Museum as part of the Cyril Beaumont Bequest.

Historical significance: An example of early 19th century scene design, in the realistic, pictorial tradition by one of the leading Italian scene designers of the period.
