Large character portrait head made from poured wax, tinted a light brown, with ginger brown tight curly hair. Brown glass eyes are inserted into the face, the mouth is mouth. The head is covered with a pink cotton cloth twisted around it.

Object history | The head represents a small Jamaican boy living in Notting Hill Gate, aged about 7 years. The Stockham family originally owned the head, it was damaged at some point before it was acquired by the museum. The repairs, which are quite visible, were made by the toymaker Margaret Glover. |
