The design features a central band of grotesque pattern and the handle is in the form of a creature which holds the body of the cup in its mouth. The right-hand side of the drawings is highly finished in comparison with the left, where the mirror-image of the ornament has been left blank. The drawing is signed "J.H. Fischer" in the base of the cup.
