Object history
One of five costume designs by Andree Howard for her ballet La Muse s'amuse in the Cyril Beaumont Bequest. This design by Andree Howard is for two Guests, danced by Tamara Svetlova and Ann Gee. The ballet was premiered by Ballet Rambert at the Mercury Theatre in 1936.

Historical significance: An example of ballet design from the 1930s for the significant company Ballet Rambert. Howard was one of the few choreographers who also designed her own works.
