Vasari presented another drawing of St Michael slaying Satan to his friend Michele Sanmichele, but in this drawing, now in the Munich print room, the fall of the rebel angels is also shown. (See P. Barocchi, Vasari Pittore, Milan, 1964, pI. 24). There seems to be no connection with our drawing.
