The stem formed as an entwined climbing rose with two candle branches. At the base of the stem a kneeling female figure with a flower basket into which a figure of Cupid is putting a rose.

For a candelabrum with a similar female figure but with a basket of grapes, see E.121-1964, by Edward Hodges Baily.
The register for the acquisition of this design was inscribed in December 1864 "from the Art Museum".
