  • Chance and Control: Art in the Age of Computers (2018) HAROLD COHEN (1928–2016) Untitled USA, 1969 Harold Cohen was an established painter in the 1960s, representing Britain at the 1966 Venice Biennale. In 1968 he became a visiting professor in California, where he wrote his first computer programs. This is one of his earliest computergenerated works, containing numbers distributed according to the program printed in the lower left corner.
