Dish of porcelain, circular, heavily pitted, with flat base and rounded, spreading sides standing on a low foot enclosing a rather concave, glazed base on which the mark: 'Kutani tsukuru' is written in black enamel under green glaze within a rectangular panel. The design inside consists of magnolia and bamboo growing beside a rock and executed in three shades of green, turquoise blue, yellow, brown and gold with black outlines over the minutely-crazed glaze. In a surrounding border shaped cartouches containing peach-sprays alternate with pointed panels decorated with formalised chrysanthemum florets on a seeded yellow ground, all on a deep green check-diapered ground. the outside is decorated all over with cloud pattern in black under a deep green glaze. The rim is outlined in dark brown enamel.
