Object history
Purchased from Dr. S. W. Bushell (Beijing), accessioned in 1883. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project.

Bibliographic reference
Huang Weiwen, of Palace Museum, Beijing, wrote about a similar vase that was auctioned by Bonhams Hong Kong on 30 May, 2017. According to Mr Huang, there are a large version (height 50cm) and a smaller version (height 34cm). Large version was made in 1738 and the smaller version in 1737.
