Mug of simple cylindrical form with handle in form of a dragon. Painted with a central panel, in enamel colours of the famille rose palette, of Chinese boat people on the river, surrounded by a scrolling peony border with mantling at the bottom in underglaze blue. Beneath the handle a sketchy landscape in pink enamel bordered with red scrolls. To either side, two small panels containing a bird on a branch in black, sepia and red, and two further small panels with landscape scenes in red, all bordered by underglaze blue scrolling. The ground bears further floral sprays in blue and is filled in with goldwork. Round the mouth a squared cell panel in blue.
