Place of origin

Dish of porcelain, with decoration painted with overglaze enamels in the famille verte palette and gilt. Wavy edge. Round the rim, a border of diaper in red, broken by six bracket panels containing flowers, with buds and butterflies, in colours and gilding on white. In the centre, a lake scene, with men fishing. In the middle is a high rocky island approached by a bridge (on the right) and ascended by a flight of steps which leads to a pagoda. On the lake are four boats, in those on the right there are two men bare-legged and bare-headed, of whom one handles the nets, the other an oar. In the boat on the left only the man with the net is discovered. In the boat in the distance only the oarsman appears. The boats are propelled in the manner of a gondola.
