Figure of a Central Asiatic groom, of buff-coloured earthenware partly covered with brown, olive-green and yellow lead glazes, and painted in black and red. Standing figure, on shaped base, of a man with a moustache wearing a long coat opening at the right side, confined at the waist by a sash and thrown back from the right shoulder so as to expose the right sleeve of a tight under tunic, the neck being bare. The coat is brown, with green lining displayed where it is folded over on the chest, the tunic pale yellow; loose brown trousers are seen below the coat. The head and hands are unglazed, a headdress with high transverse crest being painted black and the lips red.
