Physical description

Plate, porcelain, painted in underglaze blue with polychrome enamels and gilt and the arms of Pinell impaling Hamlyn. Plate has a sloping rim and a low foot with a ring on the bottom and also cartouche round the well. In the centre in a palette of enamels combining famille verte and famille rose are the arms of Pinell, Per pale or and argent, aneagle displayed azure, impaling those of Hamlin of Leics and Bucks, Gules a lion rampant ermine crowned with an antique crown or, with helm and mantling. Round the well in the cartouches are auspicious objects in famille verte colours on a ground of floral scrolls in red and gold. Above them on lotus leaves are dishes in enamels alternatively with a peach and a Buddha's hand citroen, with other auspicious objects and antiques between them in the famille verte palette. Outside round the rim are four red and green flowers.
