Physical description | Ewer of buff stoneware, with applied reliefs and yellowish glaze over slip, with dipped areas of dark brown glaze. Globular with wide foot, short narrow neck, two small loop handles on the shoulders for suspension and a short faceted spout; the neck and spout cut down, a third larger handle missing. Decorated below the handles and spout with applied reliefs respectively of a figure in a dress ornamented with scrolls and carrying a drum, the other standing on a wheel and carrying a dish on his hand; below the spout, a quatrefoil shaped panel filled with crosshatching supported by two birds with scrolled feathers, under a large knot. |
