Flask of brown stoneware, painted in iron brown over a thick cream-coloured glaze. Globular with short narrow neck and expanding mouth (partly cut away); broad foot-ring. Painted, in a slip pigment developing tones varying from yellow to warm reddish brown, on both sides with the character shou (longevity), on one side accompanied by an inscription. The glaze stops short of the foot leaving the base paste, which has burnt to dark brown colour.
