Saucer, porcelain, of octagonal form with flat spreading rim, painted in underglaze blue enamels and gold. Around the rim is a floral frieze-type border and round the well is a cash-diaper and four cartouche containing formal flower sprays. The ground for the designs was formerly decorated in gold. In the centre painted mainly in green and red are the arms of Martin surrounded by a wreath, Paly of six or and azure, on a gules chief three martlets of the first, a mullet for difference (for a third son of his line); and the crest, A marten the tail ermine.
