Object history | Bequeathed by Mr. George Salting, accessioned in 1910. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project. Stated by Mr. Lindo Myers to have been bought by him in Paris in 1869 or 187 (just before the Franco-Prussian war) for £25 and sold immediately after to Mr. Salting for £6, the first Chinese vase bought by Mr. Salting (verbal information of Mr. Myers, 6. Oct. 1923). |
