Vase of porcelain. Square body, slightly spreading mouth. Painted in three shades of green, red, yellow, manganese-purple, blue enamel and black. On each side with three panels reserved on a ground of lotus scrolls and containing: 1) a sage with a deer and an attendant; 2) chrysanthemums and rocks; 3) a pheasant on a rock; 4) peonies and rocks; 5) an insect on a flowering plant; 6) daisies and rocks; 7) furniture of the scholar's table; 8) a bird on a plum-tree; 9) two deer with lingzhi fungus; 10) a bird among lotuses; 11) a sage and a fisherman by a lake; 12) pinks among rocks. On the shoulder, cell diaper with flower panels in reserve at the angles. On the neck, lotus scrolls on a black ground with two reserved panels of flowers. Base unglazed, except for an inset square which bears the mark.
