Basin of porcelain, painted with overglaze enamels in the famille rose palette and with incised decoration. With almost vertical well, sloping rim with raised edge, and recessed base. Covering the bottom inside is a design of two birds among branches of peony and pomegranate, painted in exotic colouring; round the well are four fanciful dragons in yellow separated by fungus scrolls, on a cell diapered ground; and on the rim are four panels painted with 'antiques', reserved on a ground covered with scrolling foliage. The outside is plain.
