Square dish of porcelain, with low, rising sides and lip slightly splayed to form a curve on each side; the sides are impressed with a pattern of radiating lines. Small, circular footring. The bluish glaze is crazed in parts. Painted inside in a dark purplish-grey blue within a double square is a design of a long-tailed bird perched among foliage.
