Dish of lentoid shape with spreading sides fluted and rim foliated like a shell; neatly-made straight foot, and glazed base. Painted in a palette of fresh green, red, yellow, greyish aubergine and black enamels with touches of gilding. Inside is a scrolled cartouche having a slender coiled chi dragon in the centre in aubergine and yellow, the corners above and below sprouting chrysanthemum and other leaves, and those at the ends having in addition flower sprays; the exterior with a spray of orchid on either side, a narrow border of sloping key-fret in red encircling the foot.
