Dish of saucer shape with rounded, spreading sides and everted, eight-foil rim; low, thinly-potted foot rounded on the inside. In the centre of the base is a spur-mark. The slightly bluish-toned glaze has a muted lustre.

Painted in rich underglaze blue are a double circle delimiting the border in conjunction with a double line below the foliate rim, and further rings within and without the foot on the outside. Painted in soft blue, green, pale yellow and red with delicate outlining in black enamel is a design of a pair of phoenixes on a rock flanked by chrysanthemum and camellia in the centre, with surrounding border of scrolling chrysanthemum with six blooms; the outside is plain.
