Incense burner and lid of glazed cream-coloured earthenware, painted in overglaze enamels and gilt. Body of depressed bulbous form decorated with a frieze of conventional lotus and chrysanthemum flowers and foliage and with two borders of chrysanthemum petals. The body is supported of three short legs. Short wide neck with flat rim, two grooved ear-like handles rising high above the rim; domed lid pierced with radiating petal-shaped opening, knob in the form of a chrysanthemum bud. The decoration is in gold, red, green and black.
