Dish (one of a pair), porcelain painted in underglaze blue. With curving well and wide, spreading rim, ring foot. In an octagonal panel in the centre is a scene of two European men and a woman making music; they are dressed in early 18th century style. The woman is seated at a table playing a flat instrument; one man stands playing the flute, while another who is seated holds a lute; there are trees in the background. Surrounding this are eight panels of petal shape containing Chinese landscapes. On the reverse are three sprays of bamboo.
