Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Porcelain bottle of an elongated pear shape, with neck tapering to a slender lip now missing and cut away. On the glazed base grit adheres to the footring, which at the edge of the glaze is burnt red. Running down the neck are eight slender panels painted in grey-blue outline and paler wash, containing alternately jewel pendants and conventionalised waves, and terminating in a frieze of ruyi pendants. The main body of the piece is plain except for three circular medallions unevenly distributed, two depicting the phoenix and the third the 'Three Friends' (pine, prunus and bamboo). There is a single painted ring below and double ring round the foot.
