Porcelain of shallow form with sides curving upwards to a narrow canted rim. Painted with underglaze blue in a central medallion is a European-style coat of arms, with a surrounding border of 'cash' diaper broken by four panels containing flower sprays in red and gilt. A similar border occupies the rim. Painted in enamels round the well are four peach-shaped panels containing chrysanthemum or narcissus sprays, alternating with petal-shaped panels outlined in blue and painted with peony sprays in red and gold, all on a floral diaper ground painted in enamels. The outside of the dish is decorated with four alternating sprays of chrysanthemum and peony in blue and red. On the base are several spur marks, and the Chinese reign mark: 'da ming Chenghua nian zhi' painted in blue.
