Dish of saucer shape with rounded sides moulded in ten lobes and foliated rim; low, edge-shaped foot. Fine white porcelain. The spreading sides are covered both inside and out with a light sea-green celadon glaze, surrounding the main painted design which depicts pine and bamboo growing by rocks and rising through mist, with tree-clad hills behind. The blue is of a rich violet-grey tone. On the base are five spur makrs, and the Chinese mark: 'da ming Chenghua nian zhi' in blue.
