Costume design for Wyndham Parfitt as Sir William Crusoe in Act I of "Robinson Crusoe". The design depicts a full length male figure holding a cane in his right hand. The figure wears an 18th century style suit consisting of brown breeches and coat and a long beige waistcoat. The figure also wears a white shirt and cravat; black stockings; black buckled shoes; spectacles; and a powdered short "bob" wig. Grey paint has been applied around the figure. Unsigned by the artist.

| Object history | This Costume design by Anthony Holland is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. The plan was executed for Opera Rara's production of Offenbach's operetta "Robinson Crusoe" at the Collegiate (now Bloomsbury) Theatre, March 7th, 1973. The operetta was translated by Don White, and the production was directed by William Chappell. The production was subsequently revived by the London Opera Centre at Sadler's Wells in April 1974, and July 1976. |
