Box for incense in the form of a partly-folded kimono. Wood covered in gold and red lacquer. The kimono is decorated with hanging poem papers and the wheels and water motif (kataguruma) in gold hiramaki-e (low sprinked picture), takamaki-e (high sprinked picture) and kirikane (cut gold), with a red lacquer lining. The interior and base of the box is covered in nashiji (pear skin ground) lacquer.
