Physical description

Oblong storage box and cover without hinges or a key hole.

The black thayo work on top and sides has been patterned into a central scrolling vegetal zinme (Chiang Mai origin) design featuring birds and flower heads and surrounded with multiple borders of bead, rope and repeating lotus flowers.

Burmese teak thit-ta of thayo work finished in black lacquer. Konbaung Dynasty (1752-1885). Decorated with vegetal designs featuring birds and flower heads. ca. before 1855.
