Fragment of silk satin brocaded with coloured silks and gold thread. Brocaded designs run in bands across the yellow satin ground. The middle band is composed of alternate roundels (formed by a dragon and floral devices) and the sceptre-head (ruyi) symbol. The other two bands are composed of sprigs of peony. The chief brocading colours are brown, green, pink, white and poor quality gold thread (gilt-paper wound round a silk core).
