Scroll of buff satin embroidered with coloured silks in long and short stem and satin stitches.

The landscape scene depicts Zhong You 仲由 (543-480 B.C.) one of the Twenty-four examples of Filial Piety, crossing a bridge with a sack of rice on his back. On the shore are his aged parents outside their house which is shaded by a tree and bamboos.

The embroidery is worked mainly in blues, greens, buffs and pink, the design is completed in watercolour.

Scroll is mounted on silk, with a roller at each end and a silk cord for hanging at the top.
