Tapestry woven silk panel (fukusa) with a light blue ground. In the centre is an elderly man standing and holding a rake. Seated on the right hand side is an old woman holding a tortoise. In the background is a gnarled tree trunk with branches of leaves enriched with gold thread. There are also two cranes, one is flight and one perched on the trunk behind the woman. The sun appears to be setting behind a white strip of cloud. Sewn to the upper and lower right hand corner are table of paper with inscriptions in Japanese.
