Pair of vases. Cast and patinated iron with gold and silver overlay, the body swelling upwards and with wide mouth; bases of silver. Inlaid with hydrangeas, praying mantis and birds in gold.

Purchased from Pare & Co (125 London Wall), accessioned in 1889. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Asia Department registers, as part of a 2022 provenance research project.
