Pair of vases are patinated cast iron vases, decorated with an overlay of silver and gold, and inlaid with images of hydrangeas, praying mantis and birds; the bases of the vases are made of silver. The vases are signed "Ikkosai" and "Mitsunori" and date from the 1880s.

Physical description

Cast and patinated iron with gold and silver overlay, the body swelling upwards and with wide mouth; bases of silver. Inlaid with hydrangeas, praying mantis and birds in gold.
