Miniature cabinet of iron richly inlaid with gold and mounted with silver.

The folding doors are closed by a catch in the form of a dragon and the whole surface is covered with an octagon diaper with variously shaped panels of famous buildings in and around Kyoto. These include Kiyomizudera, Nishiotani, Chion-in, Shugaku-in, Omuru, Byodo-in, Gosho-gyoen (Kyoto Imperial Palace), Daigoku-den, Kamigamo, Arishiyama, Kinkakuji and Ginkakuji.

Inside is a chigai-dana with ten drawers, all decorated with various diaper patterns, and a general view looking towards Mount Fuji.

On the top is a panel showing a mythical ho-o bird (a type of phoenix), surrounded by paulownia.
