Coverlet of painted and dyed cotton. With a repeating pattern of 'island' motifs with flowering plants growing from them. The 'islands' alternate with floral sprigs. The colours are red, blue and violet, outlined with black. White ground. Adapted from a length of yardage, probably for dress fabrics. Cotton fringe.
