Underskirt of painted and dyed cotton chintz. With a design of curving floral sprays and chains which join in a cluster of scalloped leaves on two stems. There are two units to a width (108 cm) and a little extra on each side. Composed of four full widths of cotton. Along the upper edge of one width there is a blue line and a band of blue indicating the beginning or end of the chintz. Another of the widths has a United East India Company stamp.
