Object history
Acquired by Caspar Purdon Clarke on his purchasing triip to India in 1881 to 1882. 1883 Register entry: WOMAN'S GARMENT, " SARI." Printed cotton, in form of a shawl with narrow side and long end borders. Centre of white sun chintz pattern on black ground. Bordering' of white, yellow, and green with running floral pattern and cones on red ground. Baroda. L. 15 ft. 2 in., W. 3 ft. 6 in. 18. I.S. 1883.
