1883 Register entry: 'GARMENT. Printed cotton. Pattern of continuous chevrons in red on a pink ground. Wide end borders of cone-shaped shrubs and conventional floral ornament in various colours. Benares. L.17th 3 in., W. 3ft. 2in. Bought 4s. 794. IS. 1883'

Very similar in technique, materials, design and appearance to a group of saris recorded as being produced in Ahmedabad jail (IS.114-1883 to 119-1883)
