Printed cotton floor spread. The middle ornamented with a geometrical pattern with central rosette containing foliated design and figures of peacocks. At each end is a broad band of ornament. Borders of tigers, peacocks, chevrons and flowers.

Described as a canopy when acquired, but more likely to have been used as a floor spread by comparison with similar pieces including IS.1656-1883. 1883 Register entry: 'CANOPY COVER. Printed cotton. The middle ornamented with a geometrical pattern with central rosette containing foliated design and figures of peacocks. At each end is a broad band of ornament. Borders of tigers, peacock, chevrons, and flowers. Delhi. L. 28 ft., W. 11 ft. Bought, 13s. 761 IS. 1883'
