Object history
Transferred from India Museum 1879. Slip book entry 2703: 'Muslin Embroidered, Cheekun, Dacca, Finely Emb'd Lace pattern by[?] insertion'. Swatches from the original textile appear in John Forbes Watson's Second Series of The Textile Manufactures of India (1874) vol 864-920, no.873.

The complete piece would have been intended for use as a garment, clothing.
