Object history
Transferred from India Museum 1879. Price of the original fabric 55 Indian Rupees, 8 Annas for 2.75 yards. Transferred from the India Museum in 1879. 1880 Register Entry: [Case 23] '0630. SILK AND GOLD. (Two pieces.) "Luppa," Ahmedabad. 6494' -1880 register indicates two pieces of textiles, therefore this object is linked to 0630(IS) despite their differing production places.
Historical context
The textile was probably intended for use to make garments, clothing.
