Rectangular hanging (suzani) made up of three panels of white cotton sewn together. Embroidered in silk with central star with floral sprays in a rectangular frame with a floral border, surrounded by large and small floral sprays and an outer border of large running floral design. Lined with printed cotton, probably from Russia, with stripes of paisley designs. Edged with multi-coloured striped cotton and silk fabric.

Embroidered in various coloured silks with a six-pointed star, containing floral ornament and flowering plants. The border is of alternate large and small flowering plants, with two bands of running floral patterns. 19th cent. L. 8 ft. 4 in., W. 5 ft. 9 in. Bought, 3 pounds 10 s.' |
