Acquired by Caspar Purdon Clarke on his India purchasing trip in 1881-1882. 1883 Register entry: 'PIECE OF NET. Black cotton. Embroidered with repeating pattern of stars in gold thread and tinsel. Made at the Hobart School for Mussulman girls, Madras. 19th cent. L. 6 ft., W. 3 ft. 9 in. Bought, 13s. 8d. 1923-1883 (IS)'
