Cape of woven pashmina (goat hair), saxe blue, with narrow turn-down collar and deep border embroidered in white silk with a shawl pattern. Fringed edges. The cape is fully lined with ivory satin. An elaborate fringed tassel hangs from the collar at the centre back. Four closure at neck with single hook and eye (two worked loops indicate the absence of worked buttons originally used to close the cape further down).

The embroidered shawl pattern border consists of a continuous pattern of a double mihrbas, each double mihrbas enclosing a small buta. The entire ground space of the border between these outlined patterns is filled with a pattern of flowerheads and leaves. A stylised flowering plant grows from the cusp of each arch and is silhouetted against the pashmina field. A narrow guard border, separating the main border from the outer fringe, is patterned with a scrolled flowerheads and leaves similar to those filling the border space. Embroidery includes double chain stitch, buttonhole stitch and knotted stitch.
