Object history | Acquired by Caspar Purdon Clarke on his purchasing trip to India in 1881 to 1882. 1883 Register entry: COTTON PRINT. Unfinished. Fires stage of manufacture. Prepared with a mordaunt for fixing the dye, and showing the pattern of broad and narrow hands of floral cones, trellis pattern, and floral designs in white, on a greenish drab ground. Made for the Singapore market. Combaconum. 19th cent. L. 2 ft. 11 in., W. 3 ft. 5 in. Bought, 9d. 2309.-1883. (I.S.). |
