Gallery label
Decorated with the arms of the Saxon families Von Berbisdorf and Schato Von Schatenthal. This is one of six individual plates which have survived from a set of unknown number. The rim of each plate is richly decorated with floral motifs, which fill the space between the crests of the two families. These plates were once considered to be of saxon origin, but are now thought more likely to be Bohemian.
