The figure wears a late 19th century purple and grey afternoon jacket and skirt with bustle. The figure also wears a pair of grey gloves, and a hat with a purple veil, decorated with flowers and plumes. To the right of the figure is an drawing showing an alternative version of the hat. To the left of the figure is a drawing showing the back view of the jacket.

This Costume design by Anthony Holland is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. The design was executed for a production of W. Somerset Maugham's play "Lady Frederick" at the Savoy Theatre, November 22nd 1946. The play was produced by Murray MacDonald.
